The Bay City Brass Band is a premier musical ensemble based in Mobile, Alabama.
Founded in 1997 by the late Marcus Johnson, the group was set out to revitalize and modernize Mobile’s brass band traditions.
Known as the “Kings of the Second Line,” they play an integral role in Mobile’s historic Mardi Gras culture. The band performs a dynamic mix of Motown, Mardi Gras tradition, jazz, funk, hip-hop, and zydeco, capturing the soulful spirit of the Gulf Coast.
