Funky Lampshades is a high-energy funk, soul, and fusion band based out of Gulf Shores, Alabama, blending influences from funk, R&B, jazz, progressive rock, and psychedelia into a groove-driven, dance-floor-ready sound. Known for their tight rhythms, fiery jams, and sly reinterpretations, the band delivers infectious live shows that keep crowds moving.
Drawing inspiration from Funkadelic, James Brown, Thundercat, Vulfpeck, Prince, Stevie Wonder, and Anderson .Paak, Funky Lampshades have built a strong following across the Southeast and beyond. They currently hold a monthly rotation at House of Blues New Orleans and have appeared at French Quarter Festival, The Camp (WSP after-parties), Vinyl Music Hall, Flora-Bama, The Green Parrot, and Jam Fest in the U.S. Virgin Islands.
The band has shared stages with George Porter Jr., Big Something, Soul Rebels, Flow Tribe, Cowboy Mouth, and more. Their latest release, “I Don’t Want Your Money,” co-produced by John Hall (Red Clay Strays) and Maison Faulk, highlights their signature groove with a fresh, modern edge.
